In order to keep your skin healthy and glowing for the upcoming year 2016, Tina Alster -MD, director of the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery has suggested the five most skin-improving beauty resolutions that are easy to apply for everybody.

SPEND MORE TIME IN BED

With the temptation of internet, mobile phone, television and other entertainment facilities, it’s quite easy for us to stay up late. But when you power down and get to bed at a decent hour, it pays off when you look in the mirror. People who snooze for at least 8 hours actually feel more attractive. Research shows that being well rested makes others view you as better-looking, too. “If you’re interested in having your skin look younger and more healthy, then getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night is one of the best things you can do,” says Michael Breus, PhD, author of Beauty Sleep: Look Younger, Lose Weight, and Feel Great Through Better Sleep.

WASH YOUR FACE

It's no surprise that sleeping in makeup ages you. After a late night, we know how hard it is to run to the bathroom to remove your makeup. But if you don’t, it could remarkably damage your skin. "Sleeping in makeup can be detrimental to the skin's health," says Dr. James C. Marotta, Facial Plastic Surgeon & Skincare Expert. "This is especially true because the skin repairs itself at night while you sleep, so makeup can clog your pores and not allow the skin to breathe." Moreover, she also warns that it can cause uneven skin tone, dryness, acne, and even deepening of wrinkles.

SKIP SAMPLES

"Oversampling can lead to skin irritation and redness," Alster says. Some well known beauty brands always offer samples as an effective way to market their new products which may have fragrances or other ingredients that can bring on irritation or even an allergic reaction. Thus, don’t use too much beauty samples coming from different brands, especially that have too many ingredients which don’t really go well with your skin type. 

QUIT SOCIAL SMOKING


Girl smoking now becomes a new trend in the next generation despite a lot of its advantages. Research has been shown that the young tends to smoke in order to relax themselves, keep fit, get warm or even to look cooler. However, smoking can discolor the skin, teeth, and nails, and cause premature wrinkles and cancer. Therefore, if you want to look better, try to stay away from smoking. 

WEAR SUNSCREEN

One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems — as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.  Therefore, one of the most important daily skincare habits to adopt is wearing sunscreen, regardless of the weather. Let use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 20 at least and apply generously and reapply every two hours — or more often if you're swimming.

3 TYPES OF NATURAL NOURISHING MASKS TO HELP TREAT ACNES AND WHITEN THE SKIN

Acne or other problems related to the skin can make you extremely uncomfortable and lose confidence. However, all these problems will be removed safely and gently with the following 3 kinds of nourishing masks which can be simply performed at home without spending much money.

1. Apple cider vinegar + green tea + honey
The combination of these 3 ingredients will give you an effective mask for acne treatment. Also, it helps remove dead skin cells and recreate the collagen layer when nutrients penetrate deeply into the skin to make it brighter, healthier and more elastic. In particular, green tea and honey will help your skin smoother and tighten the pores.
- Mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of green tea, 3 tablespoons of sugar and a teaspoon of honey in a glass bowl.
- Spread the mixture onto the acne and dull skin, then gently massage for 5 to 20 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water. The mixture will take away dirt, dead cells and reduce swelling condition of acnes. Apply this method 3 to 5 times a week, your acnes will quickly collapse and disappear.
2. Cinnamon + honey
It is said that cinnamon and honey are not good for the skin and acne because they are "hot". However, in fact, the mask of these ingredients will bring your skin firmness, elasticity, natural beauty and help with acne treatment effectively. This mask is extremely suitable for the girls who are in the age of puberty.
- Mix a teaspoon of cinnamon powder with 2 teaspoons of honey in a bowl. Then stir well until the mixture becomes gel and plastic.
- Rinse the face and apply the mixture on the skin. Massage gently from 10 to 15 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Perform this method 3 to 5 times a week, you will see your face clean and smooth without acnes.
3. Honey + egg white + milk
This mask will help you clean the blackheads and brings more moisture to the skin, helping it smoother and brighter.
- Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a teaspoon of honey, two tablespoons of fresh milk without sugar and one egg white.
- Use a makeup brush to spread the mixture on the face. Leave for 20 minutes then rinse with warm water.

In the winter, our facial skin is often dry and chapped, so it will need more caring than other seasons in the year. Here are 4 simple methods that you can do at home to quickly get a healthy skin in the winter. However, make sure that you perform the following steps with a face removed all the makeup.

1. Scrub
Baking soda is always a great ingredient for exfoliation that is popularly used by everyone.
- You just mix a small amount of milk or water with a spoonful of baking soda to make a paste.
- Use your fingers to apply the mixture on the face and massage for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. However, you should only use this method once or twice / week to avoid hurt your skin.
2. Steaming
Covering your face with a hot towel will make you feel great on the every winter morning or every night before going to bed. It's a quick way to give your face needed moisture.
Warm water vapour from the towel will spread all over your face, dilating the pores to help gently excrete the sebum and dirt on the facial skin. You can repeat this method once or twice with each times lasting from 1 to 2 minutes.
3. Use nourishing mask
- Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 tablespoons of white yogurt without sugar and stir well.
- Apply this mixture on the skin after cleansing and hold for 15 minutes, then wash your face with warm water and dry with a soft towel. This method not only helps whiten the skin but also provides optimal moisture to the skin and prevents wrinkles effectively. In addition, it also makes the skin smoother and brighter.
4. Moisturize the skin
Coconut oil is always a good choice to help moisturize the skin, as derived from nature with a long time effect.
- To perform this, you apply a small amount of coconut oil directly on your face and neck.
- However, if your skin is not suitable with coconut oil as the natural oil is so high, you should switch to the other masks from fruits like cucumber, banana, tomatoes or aloe to supply more water to the skin. Besides, you can also use coconut oil to help your hair smoother and grow faster as well.
